Spring has arrived, and with it, new, exciting updates across the Tulip platform from the past few months. Whether you're building apps, integrating with systems and devices, working in a regulated environment, or scaling operations across an enterprise, there's something new in Tulip for you.
Let’s dive into what’s new this season:
Build Better Apps and Automations
Conditional Formatting in Tables
Operators and end-users rely on real-time information in apps to make quick decisions. With conditional formatting now available in Tulip tables, critical data points are automatically highlighted based on your configured rules. Whether it's an out-of-spec measurement or a low inventory count, critical data is front and center.
See how it works:
Automation Improvements
Tulip Automations continue to evolve, giving you even more power to orchestrate workflows across your apps, devices, and systems.
Filter data with greater flexibility - Machine and table-based events can now be filtered to monitor specific field or attribute updates, giving you more control over when your automations run.
Run history for automations has been extended to 6 months, giving you more visibility into your production history.
Automation permissions have been updated to provide more granular control over who can edit, create, and archive, and who can publish independently for greater control over your production logic.

Connect and Extend Apps with New Integrations
Machine Attribute Write
Tulip can now write directly to MQTT topics and OPC UA tags, giving you real-time control of machines and processes from within your applications. This opens up a powerful new set of capabilities for Tulip apps to act as HMIs for your equipment, and we are excited to see how you build with it.
See how it works:
Machine Attribute Write is already being used for recipe recalibration, dynamically updating machine parameters to ensure precise configuration for each production run, and process control integration, allowing PLCs and Tulip to communicate start, stop and acknowledge signals to a machine.
Writing to machines brings closed-loop control and real-time responsiveness to machine operators and simplifies the manual steps required to interact with equipment in production.

Third-Party Vision Integrations
Boost quality control with computer vision. Tulip Vision now supports more robust native integrations with third-party vision models - such as those from Landing AI - for advanced image-based defect detection. It is easier than ever to start using AI models in Tulip to detect visual defects and stay on top of quality with optimized inspection applications.
To get started simply create a new Model in the Vision editor, and enter your Landing AI API key. From there you can automatically train a model with images in a Tulip table, and deploy that model back to Tulip to use within your apps.
Custom Widget Improvements
Connect to geolocation services, microphones, external cameras, and more with our expanded browser API integrations for custom widgets. These improvements will open new doors for building exciting interactive widgets for apps.
Everything New for Regulated Industries
Tulip continues to invest in capabilities that help regulated manufacturers stay compliant while improving their operations. The latest long-term support release, LTS 14, is now available with the features mentioned above, as well as:
Improved numeric precision – Capture, store, and display trailing zeros and enforce the number of decimal places with a new validation rule.
The ability to send emails to User Groups for better communication workflows
Login history is now exportable for visibility into all login attempts
A login message can be configured by account owners and will be displayed every time a user logs in to both Tulip or the Player

Automatic Station and Interface Creation (Beta)
Stations and Interfaces can now be set up rapidly in production, reducing setup time and improving operational efficiency. This new auto-provisioning feature will create a new station and interface with a default name, upon a first successful Player login for a user.
Visualize Logic with App Diagrams (Beta)
Need to onboard a new team member or prepare for an audit? Visualize your app’s logic in a diagram, making it easier for you and your teammates to understand how it works.
Explore New Tools in the Tulip Library
We've added powerful new content to the Tulip Library based on best practices from leading manufacturers. These applications and suites accelerate your digital transformation and help you build smarter, faster.
The Little Things
Sometimes, it’s the small changes that make a big difference. Last but certainly not least, we’ve got four little things that we think app builders will love:
Trigger can now have descriptions to help you explain app logic across your team
A new On Input Exit trigger has been added to text to improve form handling
For triggers on text, multiline, and number input widgets, a new condition has been added to execute logic when "input is exited", which provides more flexibility when creating forms
It is now easier to embed Tulip in an iFrame with expanded support for the iFrame API
Looking Ahead: AI and Edge
We are excited to share new, exciting announcements for Tulip's AI and edge connectivity capabilities that will open up new possibilities for your operations. Stay tuned.
We're excited to hear how these changes improve your workflow and can't wait to share more enhancements throughout the year. Questions, feedback, or something you want to see? Join the conversation in the Tulip Community.
