Tulip Launches Composable MES App Suite to Accelerate Time-to-Value for Discrete Manufacturers

The new content offering now available in the Tulip Library makes digitizing shop floor traceability, production, inventory, and quality management even easier with a configurable pre-built suite of applications.

APRIL 22, 2024, SOMERVILLE, MA — Tulip Interfaces, a leader in frontline operations, announced today that it is launching the Composable MES App Suite, a foundational set of apps that provides an accelerated path for manufacturers to deploy digital production management systems that suit their unique operations. The suite is available to add to any customer or free trial Tulip instance.

Composability has been a building and design principle that has recently gained significant attention in the manufacturing industry. Tulip’s Frontline Operations Platform, with its ecosystem of tools, has always been a composable option for building solutions, including Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Hundreds of Tulip customers have built and deployed composable MES with Tulip in an average of months. Unlike monolithic, legacy systems, composable platforms allow for greater customization and flexibility when developing solutions.

The Composable MES App Suite consists of configurable best practice apps to tackle production management, quality, inventory, compliance, and traceability. All apps in the suite are built on a Common Data Model, a flexible human-readable data schema that provides a central source of truth for your operations. The Common Data Model gives admins and engineers full control of their data model through its extensible structure. This data structure makes production systems easily configurable and extensible, as citizen developers, engineers on the frontline, can easily connect new apps to the Composable MES App Suite to develop the right solution for their specific needs.

“Our customers have already built amazing composable solutions with Tulip's platform — boosting productivity, discovering insights, and achieving shockingly low defect rates,” said Roey Mechrez, Head of Ecosystem at Tulip. “The Composable MES App suite will allow even more manufacturers to see what’s possible with Tulip. Using resources from our ecosystem of integrations, connected devices, and education content, manufacturers can build a truly unique solution for their unique needs.”

The Composable MES App Suite provides a foundation for manufacturers to develop their digital production system. Manufacturing engineers can leverage the content from Tulip’s Library, as well as Tulip’s generative AI, analytics, vision, and edge connectivity capabilities, to transform their Composable MES into the right-sized solution for their operations.
