Recent capabilities added to Tables
Tulip Tables have been enabling users to create tables and push and pull data across multiple apps. We are excited to announce several new features related to Tulip Tables that make storing and importing data easier than ever and bring new capabilities to your apps that use tables.
- Import spreadsheets into tables: add data easily in a CSV file to your Tulip apps
- Interactive tables in apps: Arrays of objects are now supported, with the ability to trigger logic when interacting with a Table in an app
- Embedded user tables in apps: Assign tasks to operators based on credentials in Tables
Import spreadsheets into tables
With release 190 of Tulip, If you have a bill of materials (BOM), product specifications, order details, or other essential data, you can now upload it directly into a Tulip Table. This enables multiple apps to call upon the data at stations across your production process.
Create a Tulip Table and assign each column a unique ID that matches the unique IDs of the columns on your spreadsheet.
Interactive tables in apps
Introduced in release 189 are two new upgrades to Interactive Tables within apps:
Users can now have arrays of objects from HTTP connectors and multi-row output from SQL connectors feeding data into interactive tables. This guide to process visibility of work orders by station is a great example of this feature in action.
Additionally, you can now trigger logic when an operator selects any row in an Interactive Table.
Embedded User Tables
On the shop floor, Operators may have different levels of experience or training for certain tasks and processes. With embedded User Tables in, you can easily add capabilities such as completed training, or skill level, to your apps. This allows you to add logic based on the conditions of a selected user.
For example, If someone is trying to begin a process they have not been properly trained on, you can add a step in your app to alert a senior operator to assist them.
