An Open and Connected Platform

As machine learning and AI have come into the spotlight these past few months, finding ways to incorporate tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT into operations has been at the forefront of many peoples' minds.

Because of Tulip’s open platform and powerful integration tools, we are excited to bring OpenAI tools to your apps through content in the Tulip Library. Any AI tool with a public API can be connected to Tulip in a low-code editor, making it quick and easy to supercharge your workflows with natural language tools, and improve the experience for your team.

OpenAI in the Tulip Library

To help you start integrating ChatGPT into your apps, we have created content in the Tulip Library for connecting to OpenAI services like ChatGPT. Let’s take a look at what you can expect to find:

ChatGPT Connector Unit Test

Once you have set up the OpenAI Connector with your API information, you can test your new integration in the ChatGPT Connector Unit Test. This app provides example logic and a framework for inputting prompts and getting results back through your ChatGPT API.

If you have confirmed this is working, you can build upon the example and create your own terminal app with a prompt interface, providing a user with a quick interface to answer questions without needing to leave their workstation.

ChatGPT AI Messenger

If you want to try out an example of how ChatGPT can be applied to your workflows, we’ve created an example application that uses ChatGPT to classify data inputs from an operator. This mobile application takes text input, and categorizes it into one of four categories using an OpenAI integration. Identify if something happening in your process is a Defect, Andon, Notification, or Message, based on the description from the operator.

Using Custom Widgets, these categories appear on an events timeline that can be used to track what is happening at a station.

Build Your Own Solution

There are plenty of ways OpenAI can be used to process inputs in a Tulip app. Using the powerful connector functions available for download in the Tulip Library, you can easily improve data entry, and communications between systems and teams. OpenAI and ChatGPT can augment dashboards with categorization and summarized data, and end user experiences by adding natural language inputs.
