From Iconic Heritage to Fashion-Driven Agility
For nearly two centuries, Tiffany & Co. has been synonymous with precision and timeless design. Its artisans built a reputation for elegant pieces that defined luxury. But when Tiffany became part of LVMH, it entered a new era — expected to operate with fashion-house agility, launching products more frequently and responding faster to trends.
This transformation required a reinvention of Tiffany’s manufacturing operations. Production teams had to accelerate new product introduction (NPI) cycles while mastering intricate details like mechanical locks, hidden hinges, and bold interlocking designs — the kinds of elements characteristic to luxury jewelry that once required years of expertise. Meeting this challenge meant up-skilling the entire workforce, ensuring that every operator had the tools and guidance to deliver with speed, precision, and consistency. Tiffany has demonstrated that American manufacturing can rival Europe’s benchmarks for luxury craftsmanship.
A Digital Foundation for Craftsmanship at Scale
Tiffany & Co. turned to Tulip to modernize its operations and provide their teams with the tools to succeed. What began with apps for material control has evolved into a broad digital platform supporting every stage of production across four North American sites.
New Product Introductions at Speed
Before modernizing, process updates took weeks and training for new designs lasted months. As Tiffany sought to introduce faster design cycles and increasingly intricate collections, they needed a more agile approach to bringing new products to market.
Now, as the artisans design the manufacturing process for new products, they document final instructions in the Tulip platform. The training materials and digital work instructions are instantly available and tested, ensuring that quality requirements flow seamlessly from concept to the training room and shop floor. Tiffany has accelerated the pace of new product launches from quarterly to weekly, keeping pace with fashion-driven demand.
Tulip has allowed us to be nimble and change on a dime while still ensuring the same quality and aesthetic is met.

Guiding Every Operator and Embedding Quality at the Source
On the shop floor, craftsmanship once relied on memory, repetition, and routine inspection. Operators learned techniques through years of practice, referencing printed instructions or static files that quickly fell out of date. Quality checks came later — often too late to prevent rework and have meaningful data to investigate issues.
Tiffany reimagined this process with composable apps with interactive, step-by-step visual instructions, prompted data capture, and built-in quality checks and safety prompts. After selecting a work order, operators see the exact guidance for the product, including detailed, visual-heavy instructions for the step (assembly, polishing, etc.) and a quality check they need to complete before marking the step done. Operators can choose between English and Spanish, with work instructions automatically translated by Tulip AI.
By linking training, production, and quality within a single digital workflow, Tiffany ensures that the artistry envisioned in design is realized in every finished piece. The result is faster onboarding, fewer errors, and a workforce empowered to deliver precision and consistency at fashion speed.
We can share the best practices with everybody in a common platform that allows us to scale up and move faster than we ever have before.

Managing Precious Materials with Confidence
Teams once managed material flows through disconnected systems that required manual tracking and batch-level updates, slowing reconciliation and increasing administrative work.
Today, Tiffany manages precious materials through apps integrated directly with its ERP.
Updates like issuing precious metals as well as labor back flushing seamlessly synced in the background.

The system, not the operator, performs calculations, reducing risk and mental load. Real-time visibility ensures accuracy and accountability in every step, from metal issuance to finished product.
Bringing Order to Mold and Tool Management
In casting, Tiffany relies on hundreds of molds to shape intricate components. Previously, usage was tracked manually, making it hard to locate molds or know when they needed inspection.
Now, operators check molds in and out through a dedicated app. With a real-time log, team members don’t need to spend time searching for misplaced molds. The app tracks usage and flags molds for inspection before wear affects quality.
Measurable Gains and Cultural Transformation
By modernizing its manufacturing processes, Tiffany has strengthened its ability to bring new complex designs to life quickly while maintaining the precision and quality that define its brand.
Tiffany’s artisans and production teams are continuously improving how they work. Operators share feedback directly through the apps, giving engineers insight to refine instructions and optimize workflows.
Our operators actually feel like their voice is heard, that their craftsmanship is able to come through.
