Tulip Signs Strategic Collaboration Agreement With AWS to Build Generative AI Capabilities Empowering Frontline Workers

Tulip showcases generative AI capabilities, built on AWS, at Hannover Messe 2024.

APRIL 23, 2024, SOMERVILLE, MA — Tulip Interfaces, a leader in frontline operations, announced today that it has signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver Tulip Frontline Copilot®, which will be built using Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that offers a choice of high-performing foundation models (FMs) from leading AI companies via a single API, along with a broad set of capabilities organizations need to build generative AI applications with security, privacy, and responsible AI. Tulip is featured as a partner in AWS’s booth (Hall 15, Booth D76) at Hannover Messe to showcase the beta product. Through this multi-year SCA, Tulip and AWS will help bring new innovations to the manufacturing industry by integrating generative AI capabilities across the Tulip platform on AWS — making building lean solutions effortless, fast, and efficient.

Tulip Frontline Copilot®, built using Amazon Bedrock, is designed to leverage customers’ real-time production data to unlock more insights; give better tools to operators to diagnose, search, and understand their data; and help operators create and design apps and widgets easily without code. These capabilities are available out of the box on Tulip’s Frontline Operations Platform.

Generative AI technology has experienced exponential growth since last year, and is creating significant impact across multiple industries and domains. Generative AI will drive a historic shift in workforce allocation within software and information technology.

“Combining the power of no-code with generative AI is a game-changer that is empowering frontline workers and shaping the future of manufacturing,” said Mason Glidden, Chief Product and Engineering Officer, Tulip.

Together with AWS, Tulip’s cloud-native Frontline Operations Platform enables manufacturers to take a human-centric and composable approach to frontline solutions. These solutions unlock adaptability and resilience, make interacting with systems on the factory floor intuitive, and empower the frontline manufacturing workforce with no-code capabilities.

“Frontline Copilot® will allow us to digitize ‘institutional knowledge.’ I have the ability to give a new operator access to 30+ years of experience,” said Pranav Panakkal, Process Engineer, VEKA. “This feature is exactly what we have been looking for, for years.”

“At AWS, we’re bringing generative AI to every business, and Tulip’s approach to help operators to better understand their data by embedding generative AI capabilities in their platform aligns well with our approach of democratizing access to cutting-edge models and technology to deliver efficient, secure and scalable solutions in the cloud,” says Wendy Bauer, Vice President & General Manager, Automotive and Manufacturing at AWS. “Tulip has proven to be a key AWS Partner for years, and we are thrilled to expand our collaboration and continue innovating with Tulip, to transform the way manufacturing works.”

Tulip is an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that has achieved the AWS Manufacturing and Industrial Competency. Tulip’s Computer Vision for Quality Insights and Cloud Manufacturing Execution (MES) on AWS solution packages are available in AWS Marketplace as well as in the AWS Solutions Library.
