This year has been great for Tulip. We had 3 large product launches, we grew our user base to over 29 countries and our team continues to grow. We couldn’t have done this without your support, so as 2018 comes to an end, we want to take a few moments to thank you for making this possible and look back at some of this year’s highlights!

Factory Kit with box wideWe launched new plans, a free trial, and Factory Kit

This year we launched Tulip Standard and Professional, two plans that make Tulip available for small and medium businesses, along with a free trial of our cloud-based platform. We also launched Factory Kit, the fastest way to start experimenting with IoT enabled manufacturing apps.

Tulip App Library

We launched Manufacturing’s first App Library

In September we launched manufacturing’s first App Library, with over 25 manufacturing apps ready to use as templates or inspiration for building your own. From work instructions to production visibility, to quality and more use cases, we keep adding new ones every month.

We launched a new Gateway, Light Kit and a device ecosystem

In April we launched a new generation of our Tulip I/O Gateway and Light Kit, our pick-to-light solution, with even easier configuration interfaces. We also launched a device ecosystem, with a growing list of devices ready to use with Tulip out of the box.

Tulip Bosch Smart Workstation

We launched a Smart Workstation with Bosch

In October, we announced a strategic partnership with Bosch to launch our joint Smart Workstation combining Bosch’s manual production system and Tulip’s App Platform. Thanks to this partnership, you can now get a fully enabled smart bench faster than before through our website.

We opened up our product roadmap and introduced important new features

In 2018 our platform gained many important new features such as the activity feed, to make it easier to collaborate with your peers, the expressions editor, to facilitate data manipulation and many more. Perhaps more radically, our product team made our product roadmap public so you can see all the great features coming in 2019!


Nautique Case StudyWe launched a new website with more case studies, use cases, and resources

In September we launched a brand new website with more case studies, videos, use cases, and useful resources. It’s over 120 pages of everything you need to know about Manufacturing Apps, Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

We launched three new partner programs with partners across the Americas, Europe, and Asia

This year we launched a go-to-market partner program, a technology ecosystem partner program, and a connected devices partner program. We already have partners across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Learn more here.

Tulip was recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the world

The World Economic Forum recognized Tulip as a Technology Pioneer, Business Insider included us in their annual list of most innovative companies, and Gartner included Tulip on their Hype Cycle for manufacturing.

We were selected as Industrial Competency Partner by Amazon AWS

Amazon Web Services selected Tulip as an Industrial Competency Partner for “demonstrated technical proficiency and demonstrated success in building software solutions targeting Industrial Production and Operations”. Watch the video.

We attended tradeshows all over the US, and Europe

From Hannover Messe in Germany to IMTS in Chicago, we had a busy year speaking at industry conferences and bringing our full demo to trade shows around the world. Come meet us at an event next year – stay up to date in our events page.

Our manufacturing meetup community grew 5x

This year we organized 8 meetups in New England and the Midwest, including a Women in Manufacturing event with over 100 attendees (pictured above), a Machine Monitoring event and an Industry 4.0 panel with Formlabs and other industry leaders. Next year, we have many more great events planned, so make sure you join our mailing list to stay up to date!

Tulip continued to grow with users in over 29 countries

This year Tulip’s team grew across the US and Europe with customers across 29 countries. To keep up with our expansion, in September we moved to a brand new headquarters in Somerville, MA, and threw a great office party to celebrate.
